ON-SCREEN BEZEL

WHAT IS IT?

Arcade gaming on modern flat screens feels... a little awkward. We've come up with the solution to sweeten the deal a little bit.
A simple overlay that mimic vintage CRT screen bezels that can be displayed around the game screen.

STATING THE OBVIOUS

This may be unnecessary, but just to be on the same page - we would like you to know that this works ONLY for MAME (and MESS that is currently merged with MAME) simply because the ability to display bezels is backed in MAME. Maybe other emulators supports this as well - but we simply don't know.

IS THIS FOR ME?

Honestly... we don't know. It's fake. It's just an image overlay. This thing is not REAL!

But we like it. It makes arcade gaming more immersive. And if that "nostalgia" factor is important to you - maybe you'll like it as much as we do.

WHAT DO I NEED?

We'll provide all the elements in one ready-to-use pack - but it's not ready yet.

BEZEL ARTWORK

this is the image of bezel frame surrounding the screen, it has to be .png file with transparency and the see-through window for game screen

LAYOUT SETTINGS (.lay file)

this is the file that defines what is the size and position of that cut-out where the game screen will be displayed

GLSL/HLSL filter (optional)

those filters can bring us closer to that CRTs screen look, this is totally optional and maybe you are against using filters - but at least the filter that is altering the screen geometry is needed - if you want to emulate CRT screen curvature.
